MTN Ghana Equips Western Region SMEs with Business Growth Skills

MTN Ghana has organised a business clinic for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Western Region to strengthen the capacity of entrepreneurs through business development and branding training.
Held in Takoradi, the programme formed part of the second edition of the MTN SME Business Clinic under the theme, Building a Strong Business Model Through Unique Branding. The initiative also formed part of activities marking MTN Ghana's 30th anniversary.
The event brought together entrepreneurs from across the region to learn practical strategies for improving business management, branding and long-term growth.
Speaking during the programme, Mohammed Abubakari-Sidick, Senior Manager for SME Sales, Partnerships and Business Broadband at MTN Ghana, said the company believes SMEs have enormous potential to create jobs and contribute significantly to Ghana's economic development.
He explained that MTN partnered with industry experts to help businesses improve areas such as branding, packaging and overall business development so they can compete more effectively.
According to him, participants will also benefit from digital business solutions, including support in developing business websites, acquiring dedicated business contact numbers and adopting digital tools that increase visibility and operational efficiency.
Business and brand consultant Richard Maglo, one of the facilitators, encouraged entrepreneurs to build strong systems and structures that would enable their businesses to grow sustainably.
Participants expressed appreciation to MTN Ghana, describing the training as timely and valuable for improving the competitiveness of their businesses.
